Yesterday in Lynn, residents turned out to vote for mayor, city council and school committee with challenger and current State Senator Thomas McGee overtaking incumbent mayor Judith Kennedy 64% to 35%. Voter turnout in the city this election cycle was lower than in previous mayoral races at just 28.16% (or 14,489 voters of the 52,722 Lynn residents who are registered to vote).
Turnout in Ward 1 was the highest at 45.7% and lowest in Ward 4 at 16.3%.
Ward 1 accounted for 30% of the votes citywide.
